11/26/09:Happy Thanksgiving

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and hope you are spending it with family and friends.  Despite the fact that the past couple of years have been difficult for many families, including my own, today is the day to take stock of those things we do have and can be thankful for.  I am very grateful to have an incredible wife and family who have supported me at every turn of my life, whether they have been good times or not.  I am grateful to live in a country that is protected by so many unselfish men and women of our military, who are away from their families on foreign soil, so that I can be with mine.  I am grateful for the friends I have who are always there to lend a hand whenever needed, including on this campaign for Congress!  I am grateful that God has given me the abilities to provide for my family and the things we need, and while we may not be rich, we are truly blessed. 

Finally, despite the fact that I have lost several family members this year, including my dad and my father-in-law, I am grateful that I had them in my life for as long as I did.  I can only hope that I will make them proud as the years pass.
